Two Little Girls: A Memoir of Adoption

by Theresa Reid

I wasn't sure if I was going to like this one at first but it turned out to be a worthwhile read. This is the true story of Theresa and her husband Marc, who find themselves unable to conceive and decide to adopt a child from Russia. I had no idea that international adoption was so expensive and difficult. An interesting look at one couple's journey towards becoming a family of four. Rating: ***

The author is correct when she sets up the book- at times she doesn't paint herself in a very flattering light. Sometimes she comes off as kind of selfish and superficial. It is hard to imagine her passionately working on behalf of kids when she seems kind of cold. But you have to respect her honesty and willingness to share the whole story (warts and all).
