A coming of age story set in Cleveland in the 1960s' and 70's. Anna Crane's family is devastated by the sudden death of her father in an accident. Her fragile mother Lily is so focused on finding a new man to take care of her that she almost completely forgets about caring for her three daughters. A beautifully written book. ****1/2
